Correctly preserving and regular replacement of belts and hoses can save time and money over the life of your vehicle. Belts and hose pipes are in control of important functions of your vehicle, so to prevent some of the most typical causes of breakdown, make certain your belts and hoses are checked at regular periods.
It is recommended to have them checked with every oil change or every 3,000 miles. Ask your mechanic about belts and hoses if you observe:
- Loss of power
- Squealing or grinding sounds
- Vibrations, or if you feel slips or any ‘catching’
Through each assessment, our professionals examine every belt for peeling, glazing, breaking, softening, correct tensioning, appropriate drive pulley and alignment. During our hose/belt inspection, we also inspect for: fractures, leaks, hardening, splitting and softening. Sometimes cooling system pressure examination can help inspect for holes and worn clamps.
